Modifiers
A modifier is a list of choices staff pick when they add an item, for example Polish Type: Regular, Gel or Chrome. Each choice is called a property. A property can have its own price.
Create a modifier here, then attach it to items on each item’s Add ons tab. See Add-ons, modifiers and options on an item.
Find a modifier

The list shows 10 modifiers per page, newest first.

Fields
Section titled “Fields”| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | The modifier name. Up to 50 characters. You see Please provide the modifiers type’s name if it is empty. |
| Properties | Yes | The choices. A modifier needs at least one. |
| Property name (Input modifier’s property) | Yes | The choice staff see. Up to 50 characters. Each name must be unique in the modifier, or you see The property is duplicated! |
| Price (optional) | No | An extra price for that choice. Leave it empty for no extra cost. It can’t be negative. |
Under the list of properties:
- Add property adds a row.
- The remove icon at the end of a row removes that property. It shows only when there is more than one row.
- Remove all clears every property after you confirm, and leaves one empty row.
A modifier you create here is saved with its name hidden on the bill. The bill shows only the chosen property, for example “Large” and not “Size: Large”. There is no switch for this on the form.
Edit a modifier
Section titled “Edit a modifier”Click ⋮ on the row and choose Edit. The Update modifiers type drawer has the same fields as the add form.
When you click Complete, Nuvioo asks Do you want to apply for all items?
| Answer | What happens |
|---|---|
| Yes | New and removed properties are applied to every item that uses the modifier. |
| No | Properties you removed are still removed from every item. New properties are not added to items that already use the modifier. |
Delete a modifier
Section titled “Delete a modifier”Click ⋮ on the row, choose Delete, and confirm with Delete. To delete several, tick them, click the arrow next to the header checkbox, choose Delete, and confirm. The bulk menu has no other action.
The modifier and its properties leave the list. You can’t undo a delete from the portal.
On the POS
Section titled “On the POS”Modifiers show on the Modifiers tab of the pop-up staff see when they tap an item.
- Each property shows as a choice. If it has a price, the price shows with it.
- Picking is optional, and the POS doesn’t limit how many properties staff choose. To force one choice or set a maximum, use an option.
- On the item’s Add ons tab you can leave a property out for that item only.
You need the matching role permission to see Add New, Edit and Delete. See Roles and permissions.
