Combos

A combo sells several items together at one price, for example Mani + Pedi Combo. A combo is made of groups. Each group lists items, and staff choose from them when they ring the combo up.

In the sidebar, under Menu management, open Menu groups and click Combos.

The list shows 10 combos per page, sorted by name from A to Z. Above the table, 0 of 5 Items selected shows how many rows you ticked and how many combos match.

Column What it shows
Checkbox Tick a row to use the bulk menu. Tick the box in the header to select every row on the page.
No. The row number.
Name of combo The combo’s picture and name. Click the header to sort from A to Z or Z to A.
SKU The first 10 characters of the SKU, or - if there is none.
Visibility Visible, Hidden or Unavailable. Change it right here and it saves at once.
Price The combo price.

To find a combo, type part of its name in Search items.

  1. Open the form

    Click Add New. The Add new combo drawer opens on the Items tab.

  2. Enter the combo details

    Fill in the fields in the table below. Name of combo and Price are required.

  3. Add at least one group

    Under Add ons group, click Add group. See Groups.

  4. Set when it sells (optional)

    On the Sales time tab, limit when the combo sells. See Sales time and sales price.

  5. Save

    Check the combo, then click Complete. If a required field or the groups are missing, you see Please fill full the form and the form stays open.

Field Required What it does
Add Image No A picture for the combo. JPG or PNG, up to 5 MB, at least 652 px wide.
Visibility Yes Visible, Hidden or Unavailable. Defaults to Visible.
Name of combo Yes Up to 400 characters.
Category No, but see the note above The category the combo belongs to. Click Add category to create one here.
SKU No Your stock code, up to 50 characters, no spaces. Each SKU must be unique across items, combos and services. Leave it blank and Nuvioo creates one. The refresh button fills in a random code.
Tax No A tax rate in percent. Leave it blank to use the location’s tax rate.
Description No Up to 500 characters.
Background Color No The colour of the combo’s tile on the POS.
Price Yes The one price for the whole combo. A combo has no sizes.

Visibility, SKU, tax, category and image work the same way as for items.

A group is a set of items staff choose from. For example, a group “Choose your services” might list manicures, and a second group “Choose a pedicure” might list pedicures.

  1. Open the group form

    Under Add ons group, click Add group. The Add group drawer opens.

  2. Fill in the group

    Use the fields in the table below.

  3. Choose a size for each item that has sizes

    After you pick products, each one appears as a row. If it has sizes, pick one in Size. It is required.

  4. Save the group

    Click Complete. The group appears under Add ons group with Edit and Delete buttons.

Field Required What it does
Name Yes What staff see, for example “Choose your services”.
Maximum quantities per item Yes The most of any one product staff can take from this group. Whole number, 1 or more. It can’t be more than Require quantity.
Require quantity Yes How many items staff choose in this group in total. Whole number, 1 or more. It can’t be less than Maximum quantities per item.
Select products Yes The products staff choose from. Type to search. Scroll the list to load more. Products that aren’t visible start with (Hidden) - or (Unavailable) -.
Size Yes, for products with sizes The size of that product that goes in the combo.

If the numbers conflict, the form says Maximum quantities per item cannot be greater than Require quantity or Require quantity cannot be less than Maximum quantities per item. If a field is empty it says Quantity is required, and if a number is below 1 it says Min quantity is 1.

Only products can go in a group. Add-ons, other combos and services can’t. A product must be in a category to be listed.

For example, Require quantity 2 and Maximum quantities per item 1 means staff choose two different products.

On the Items tab, each group is a row with its name.

  • Click Edit to open Update group. Change the fields and click Complete. If the group isn’t valid, the drawer stays open.
  • Click Delete, then Yes, to remove the group from the combo.

A combo must keep at least one group. If none is left, you see Please create at least one group.

Click ⋮ on the combo’s row.

Action What it does
Edit Opens Update combo with the same fields as the add form.
Clone Opens Add new combo filled in with the combo’s details and groups. The SKU is left blank. Change the Name of combo, then click Complete to save a new combo.
Delete Deletes the combo after you confirm with Delete.

You only see the actions your role allows. See Roles and permissions.

  1. Select the rows

    Tick the combos. Tick the box in the header to select the whole page.

  2. Choose the action

    Click the arrow next to the header checkbox.

    • Change status, then Hidden, Unavailable or Visible.
    • Delete, then confirm. If a selected combo is in an order being processed, nothing is deleted and you see Products … in order processing.

The options stay greyed out until you tick at least one row.

  • A combo appears as an item with its price. Hidden combos don’t appear. Unavailable combos appear greyed out and staff can’t add them.
  • A combo outside its Sales time doesn’t appear.
  • When staff tap a combo, each group shows its name and the rule, for example (Select 2 items - Max quantity per item 1).
  • Staff must choose exactly Require quantity items in each group before the combo can be added.
  • Staff can’t take more of one product than Maximum quantities per item.
  • A product that is Hidden doesn’t show in the group. A product that is Unavailable shows greyed out and staff can’t choose it.
