Sales time and sales price

Two settings change an item by the clock:

  • Sales time limits when an item sells.
  • Sales Price (or Setting price for a service) sets a different price during chosen hours.

Both use the same time-range editor.

Item type Tabs it has
Product Sales time and Sales Price
Combo Sales time
Service Setting price
Add-on None
  1. Open the tab

Open the item and click the Sales time tab.

  2. Turn it on

Turn on Config sales time?. When it’s off, the item sells at any time.

  3. Choose the days

Under Sales period, pick a tab.

    • All day in week: one set of time ranges that applies every day.
    • Specific for each day: tick each day you sell the item and set its own time ranges. A day you don’t tick has no sales.
  4. Set the time ranges

Pick a Start time and an End time. The end can’t be before the start. To add another range in the same day, click the + button. To remove a range, click its delete icon.

  5. Save

Click Complete. If two ranges on the same day overlap, you see Overlap times! and nothing saves.

Time pickers move in 15-minute steps.

A sales price replaces the normal price during a time range. Use it for happy hours or peak pricing.

  1. Open the tab

On a product, click Sales Price. On a service, click Setting price.

  2. Turn it on

Turn on the switch at the top of the tab. On a product it reads Setting price.

  3. Choose the days and time ranges

Work as you did for sales time: All day in week or Specific for each day, then a Start time and End time for each range. On a product, click Add time range to add more. On a service, click +.

  4. Enter the price

Enter a Sale price for each range. If the product has sizes, enter a Sale price for each size.

  5. Add a note (products only)

Type an Item note if you want one, for example “Happy Hour”. It shows on the kitchen ticket and the customer receipt.

  6. Save

Click Complete. Overlapping ranges on the same day are rejected with Overlap times!.

On these tabs the time picker offers minutes 00 and 59, so a range ends at a time such as 20:59.

  • Sales time: outside its sales time, an item doesn’t appear in the POS item list. Staff can’t add it to an order.
  • Sales Price on a product: during a range, the item sells at the sale price you set. Outside every range, it sells at its normal price.
  • Setting price on a service: Nuvioo bills a service by time. The service Price is charged for every 60 minutes, counted by the minute. Minutes that fall inside a range are charged at that range’s sale price. See Services.
