Gift card overview

Gift cards let your customers prepay for services and products. You set up gift cards in the Gift card portal and sell them at your Nuvioo POS. Each card sold gets its own code, which the customer uses to pay on later visits.

Open Gift card from the sidebar at https://<your-business>.nuvioo.app/gc.

How it works

1. Create a gift card

   In the sidebar, under Management, click Gift card and set the name, price, balance, expiry and image. See Create a gift card.

2. Sell it at the POS

   Staff sell the gift card at your Nuvioo POS like any other item. Nuvioo creates a unique code for each card sold. If the customer gives an email address, the code is emailed to them.

3. Customer redeems it

   The customer pays with the code on a later order. The amount is taken from the card’s remaining balance.

4. Track codes and transactions

   Gift card codes shows every code with its balance and status. Gift card transactions shows every deposit, withdrawal and refund.

Note

Gift card codes are created only when a card is sold at the POS. You cannot create a code in the Gift card portal.
