Email editor blocks and tokens
The Edit step of a marketing email is a block editor. The email is a vertical stack of blocks. You add blocks from the library and change each one in a side panel.
Build the email
Section titled “Build the email”The bar above the canvas has an Edit and a Preview switch. It also shows the subject and how many blocks the email has. The side panel has two tabs: Block library and Edit block.
| To do this | Do this |
|---|---|
| Add a block | Click a block in the Block library, or drag it onto the canvas. A click adds it at the end. |
| Change a block | Click it on the canvas. The Edit block tab opens with its settings. |
| Reorder blocks | Drag the handle on a block, or use its Move up and Move down buttons. |
| Copy a block | Click Duplicate on the block. |
| Remove a block | Click Delete on the block, or Delete block in the Edit block tab. |
| Check the result | Switch to Preview. Tokens show sample values. |
The email needs at least one block before you can send it.
Blocks
Section titled “Blocks”The Block library groups blocks as Content, Layout and Marketing.
Content
Section titled “Content”| Block | Settings |
|---|---|
| Heading | Heading text, Font size (12 to 32) and Text color. Accepts tokens. |
| Text | Body, a rich-text editor. Accepts tokens. |
| Image | Image (see below), Alt text, Caption and an optional Link URL. |
| Button | Button text, Button link (required), Alignment (left, center or right), Button color, Text color and Font size. |
Image has two sources. On the Upload tab, click or drag an image. It must be JPG, PNG or GIF and up to 10 MB. Images are resized to fit 600 by 340 pixels. On the Link tab, paste an image URL.
Write Alt text for every image. It shows when a mail app blocks images.
Links in the Image and Button blocks must start with http:// or https://, be 2,048 characters or fewer, and can’t point to localhost or a private network address.
Layout
Section titled “Layout”| Block | Settings |
|---|---|
| Columns | Column layout: 2 equal, 1/3 · 2/3, 2/3 · 1/3, 3 equal or 4 equal. |
| Divider | None. |
| Spacer | Height (px), from 1 to 400. |
Each column holds Heading, Text, Image, Button, Divider and Spacer blocks. Add them from the column’s menu, or drag them in from the library. If a new layout has fewer columns, the blocks in the removed columns are deleted after you confirm.
Marketing
Section titled “Marketing”| Block | Settings |
|---|---|
| Offer | Title, Body and Promo code. Accepts tokens. |
| Social | Social networks: pick a network (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest or Website) and enter its URL. Use Add network for more. You can reorder or remove each link. |
| Footer | Address and Unsubscribe link text. |
The footer
Section titled “The footer”The footer holds the unsubscribe link. Each email has one footer, and it is always the last block. You can’t move, duplicate or delete it, and you can’t add a second one. If an email has no footer, Nuvioo adds a default footer when it sends, so every marketing email has a working unsubscribe link.
The default footer address is a sample. Replace it with your own business address.
Personalize with tokens
Section titled “Personalize with tokens”Tokens are placeholders that Nuvioo replaces with each contact’s details when it sends. Click Insert token under a field that accepts them, or type the token in double braces.
| Token | Replaced with |
|---|---|
{{contact.firstname}} |
The contact’s first name. |
{{contact.lastname}} |
The contact’s last name. |
{{contact.company}} |
The contact’s company. |
{{campaign.name}} |
The email’s internal name. |
{{link}} |
The first link in the email, tracked. If the email has no links, the token is removed. |
Insert token is available for the Subject line on the Settings step and in Heading, Text and Offer blocks. Use tokens there. A token Nuvioo doesn’t recognize is replaced with nothing.
Tracking
Section titled “Tracking”Nuvioo tracks opens and link clicks so Analyze can report them. You don’t need to add anything to your links.
